Overview
This website (tools.florianabry.me) provides small, self-contained browser tools. All processing happens locally in your browser — no files, inputs, or results are ever sent to a server. No cookies are set. No analytics or tracking is used.
The only technical data processed is your IP address, which is handled by the hosting provider as part of normal server operation (see below).
Controller (Verantwortlicher)
The person responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR is:
Full postal address is available to authorities upon request via the hosting provider in accordance with § 5 DDG.
Hosting & Server Logs
This website is hosted by OVH SAS (2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France). When you visit any page, OVH's web server automatically records the following data in server access logs:
- Your IP address
- Date and time of the request
- URL requested
- HTTP status code and bytes transferred
- Referrer URL and browser user agent (if sent by your browser)
This logging is technically necessary to serve the website and detect abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website). Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are not shared or used for any other purpose.
A Data Processing Agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag, AVV) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with OVH. OVH stores and processes data within the European Union. View OVH AVV (PDF) ↗
Cookies, Analytics & Tracking
This website does not use:
- Cookies of any kind (session, persistent, or third-party)
- Web analytics (no Google Analytics, Matomo, or similar)
- Tracking pixels or browser fingerprinting
- Advertising networks or retargeting
- Social media buttons or embeds
Client-Side Tools
All tools on this site (PDF conversion, QR codes, image processing, Markdown editing, etc.) run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Files you upload or generate are processed in memory on your device and are never transmitted to any server. Closing the browser tab discards all data immediately.
PDF Text Extractor — External CDN Requests
The PDF Text Extractor tool uses Tesseract.js, an OCR engine that runs entirely in your browser. The OCR engine itself (~7 MB) is self-hosted on this server and loaded directly from tools.florianabry.me — no external CDN is contacted for this.
However, on first use, your browser downloads language training data (8–20 MB per language, on demand) from an external server:
- Language training data — served by Tesseract.js CDN (
tessdata.projectnaptha.com)
When your browser makes this request, the CDN server may log your IP address, the date and time of the request, and the language file requested. After the initial download, language data is cached by your browser — subsequent uses of the same language make no external requests. Your PDF files and extracted text are never sent to this CDN.
The legal basis for this request is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing multilingual OCR functionality without a server-side component).
Fonts
This website uses the Poppins typeface, which is self-hosted on this server. No request is made to Google Fonts or any external font service. Your IP address is not transmitted to Google or any third party for the purpose of loading fonts.
